- this is the very first time i write to you and i hope that we can be really good friends in the near future.
- .
- let me first tell you something happened to me this week. i am thinking of using a single word to tell you how i feel - weary! yes, this week is the first time in my life that i got a job! in fact, it is a summer job and i work in a law firm, stevenson, wong and lai in central as a summer law student.
- .
- files and documents were stacked in front of me from the very first minute i went into the office (department of intellectual property) on monday. the first task i was asked to finish is to prepare bills that are going to be sent to the clients along with the confirmation letters. at the beginning, i thought that was an easy task, just add up the sum and print the bill out. it was not soon before i found out it was definitely not true and later on i learnt that it was one of the most complicated and at the same time, important tasks in a law firm.

- on monday, i can only finish one and only one bill. i was completely fucked up in the afternoon as i got too many questions and difficulties. everything i came across is new and unfamiliar to me. i felt really bad that night, blaming myself of being useless and not able to complete the task well.

- with the kindness and help of my fellow classmates who are also working in the firm, vivian and angela and our department's legal executive, rose (she resembles hk famous star, yeung yuk mui a lot), i did better and better and finally on wednesday, my bill draft was confirmed by ip solicitor, ms. shirley kwok. i felt really satisfied 'cause at least i have contirbuted something to the firm.

- though it is a strenuous job for me, i must tell you that i really gain a lot this week. i can see the operation of the firm and learn a lot in the area of intellectual property. experience is the most important of all, right?

- hey you can see a smiley next to saturday. yeah it is the first time that i realize why weekends are so important to the people who have a job. on saturday night, you have no need to worry about the unfinished job left in the office, or that you may not be able to get up on time.

- finally for movies, i rented several videos on wednesday, including, les amants du pont-neuf starring juliette binoche and hitchcock's vertigo. i may watch those two later tonight or tomorrow. last night, i watched nightmare on elm street : freddy's dead which is not scary at all. a really bad movie, overall. i am going to watch runaway bride starring julia roberts and richard gere with my friends tonight. hope it is up to the level of notting hill.
