- dear jason,
two weeks ago, i had the honour of being invited to star in a short film (actually i was the only actor) directed and written by my friend, kingman choi. mr. choi spent four years studying filmmaking in miami, florida, and i'm his huge fan as i've always wished that i can shoot my own film in the future.
frankly speaking, i didn't realize that acting could be such an exhausting job until i tried to be a real actor. however, the filmmaking process was a very rewarding experience and i had a lot of fun acting as a schizophrenic who's trying to kill himself with an electric drill, thinking that somebody's chasing after him and trying to murder him any time, even in his dreams.
we even shot some of the scenes on a pedestrian bridge in yuen long. i just kept running like crazy on the bridge and kingman were chasing after me, with his camera on both hands. some women were trying to protect their children from us so that we wouldn't knock them down along the way. and i also smoked for the first time (more like pretending actually) which is required by the script. you can imagine how stupid i looked, for someone who had no smoking experience to act as a cool-looking regular smoker. but finally i got through all the shootings and kingman expects he'll finish editing the film within the next two weeks.
- jason
